In other ways, I don’t want to be held accountable for things that I am not responsible for. I don’t want to hold others accountable for things that they are not responsible for, because then I tangle up the things that I need to forgive myself for and the things that I should forgive others for.
Teaching is a heavy load. I think that it is probably one of the greatest responsibilities that exists (thinking of that Ezra Klein podcast on his opinion on the relative social status of teachers compared to their socioeconomic prestige attached to it). Especially in formal settings, but aren’t we actually teachers all the time, if humans learn best from example?
